1. China is safe
At present, China is conducting one of the strictest testing and quarantining programs ever seen. There are very few new, domestic cases of Covid 19 in China now. The quarantining of whole cities coupled with huge testing of the population has effectively curbed the virus here. The new cases are imported from other countries. Everyone returning from abroad is subject to a mandatory quarantine of 14 days on arrival with full medical testing before they are allowed to leave. The recent move to hold a temporary ban on all foreign nationals entering China is another move to preserve the current low cases of the corona virus.
2. China will need teachers
It is difficult to say with any certainty exactly when the ban will be lifted on non-Chinese nationals entering China. However, it is not expected to be more than a couple of months. When this happens there will be a huge demand for native speakers to fill the positions that have been vacated as teachers left China during the height of the outbreak. As universities, schools, kindergartens and training centres begin resuming throughout the country, the demand will be higher than the supply. As moving to China takes a lot of planning to find the perfect job and arrange the visa, now is a perfect time to get started.
3. High demand means higher salaries
So there are going to be a lot of jobs in China in the coming months. A good date to aim for is late August/ Early September for jobs in kindergartens, government schools and universities. If you want to start earlier, then training centres will employ teachers all year round. It is important to keep abreast of the latest travel advice as it is changing daily in the current circumstances, but these dates will give you plenty of time to get ready for your new adventure. .
4. It’s easy to get TEFL certified
